The Ministry of Transport denied on Friday allegations regarding the implementation of the New Administrative's Capital and the 6 October Monorail projects at a higher cost compared to similar international ones.
The ministry pointed out that the total value of the implementation of the Monorail project is estimated at 2.6695 billion euros, including taxes, customs, and all domestic costs.
"After deducting these expenses, the real cost is € 2.217 billion, which is an appropriate cost compared to similar projects worldwide," the ministry added.
"The project will change the concept of mass transportation and service for urban development, as it will link the administrative capital to all Egyptian governorates," the ministry pointed out.
The total length of the new capital monorail project is 96 km, including 33 stops and 4 interchange stations.
The first exchange station will reach the the new capital's electric locomotive, and the second will connect with the "Stadium" station of the third metro line in Nasr City.
Regarding the monorail of the 6 October line, the ministry noted the presence of two interchange stations. The first connects with El Alamein-Ain Sokhna high-speed train, and the second with the "Bulaq Dakrour" station of the third line.
The Ministry pointed out that the two projects are less costly compared to similar projects in the world, adding that it will represent a qualitative leap in infrastructure.
