The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) has opened nominations for the Sharjah International Book Fair Awards 2026, offering a total of AED 625,000 in prizes across 10 categories to recognize excellence in writing and publishing.
Applications will remain open until Aug. 31, with winners to be announced during the opening ceremony of the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair.
The awards honor outstanding Emirati, Arab and international authors and publishers in categories including novels, academic studies, poetry and English-language books. They also recognize leading local, Arab and international publishing houses.
The initiative reflects the vision of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and supports efforts led by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority, to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a global center for books, publishing and cultural exchange.
