The Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, in cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, will conclude its cultural season with a special event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the establishment of Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The celebration will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at the Russian House in Cairo, highlighting the history of Egyptian diplomacy and the development of Egyptian-Russian cooperation on the international stage.
The event will also honor a distinguished group of graduates from Russian and former Soviet universities who have made significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Russia.
Among those attending the celebration are Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, Chairman of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association; Dr. Vadim Zaichikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt; Ambassador Ezzat Saad, Egypt's former Ambassador to Moscow; and Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Russian and Soviet Universities Alumni.

Representing the honored alumni will be Dr. Morsi El-Tahawy, Professor Emeritus of Nuclear Physics at Egypt's Atomic Energy Authority and the author of the first book on nuclear energy published in Egypt and the Arab world, as well as Dr. Anwar Ibrahim, one of Egypt's leading Russian-language translators, former Deputy Minister of Culture, former Head of the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector, and the translator of numerous literary and cultural works from Russian into Arabic.
As part of the event, Sherif Gad will deliver a presentation highlighting some of the most prominent graduates of Russian and Soviet universities and their contributions across different decades, beginning with Egypt's scholarship program to the Soviet Union in 1956.
The celebration will conclude with the announcement of the newly appointed members of the specialized committees of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, who will lead the association's activities during the upcoming cultural season, which begins in September 2026.
