The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) welcomed His Excellency President Jakov Milatović, President of the Republic of Montenegro, and the First Lady, during his first official state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The distinguished guests were accompanied by Dr. Abdel Aziz Qonsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, alongside Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi, Egypt’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic and Non-Resident Ambassador to Montenegro.

They were received by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, who welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the museum and its most prominent artifacts. Dr. Ghoneim then guided the presidential delegation on a tour through the museum's landmarks, including the exterior courtyard, the Grand Atrium, the Grand Staircase, the main exhibition galleries, and the King Tutankhamun halls.

The President of Montenegro and his accompanying delegation expressed their profound admiration for the museum's exceptional architectural design, its innovative display scenario, and the unique archaeological treasures that reflect the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization. They highly commended the tremendous efforts dedicated to establishing this world-class cultural and civilizational landmark.

At the conclusion of the visit, the President of Montenegro and Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim exchanged commemorative gifts to mark the historic occasion, which highlights the depth of bilateral relations between the two nations and the keen interest of international dignitaries in exploring Egypt's cultural heritage.
