The Zahi Hawass Foundation for Antiquities and Heritage has announced the organization of a major scientific and awareness-raising lecture titled: "Ancient Egyptian Identity Between Scientific Facts and Historical Fabrications."
The lecture will be delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Mahmoud Hamed El-Hosary, Associate Professor of Archaeology and Ancient Egyptian Language at New Valley University. He will present a documented academic vision to refute foreign allegations that attempt to undermine the authenticity of Egyptian civilization and falsify its facts.
The lecture will address a set of highly important strategic pillars, foremost of which is exposing the falsehoods about the ancient Egyptians that the world has believed, and correcting commonly held international misconceptions. It will also shed light on how the West monopolized the writing of Egyptian history for long centuries. Furthermore, it will discuss the West's utilization of media and cinema to distort ancient Egyptian civilization, alongside attempts to obliterate identity through artistic and global platforms. This is in addition to reviewing foreign archaeological missions and evaluating both their positive and negative roles throughout history.
This event aligns with the Foundation's mission to enhance archaeological awareness and defend Egypt's cultural identity through rigorous scientific methods capable of confronting historical fabrications and educating new generations about the truth of their ancient history.
The lecture is scheduled to take place at the Prince Taz Palace on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
