The Egyptian author Mansoura Ezz El Din won the first prize in the contemporary journey category which is part of the Ibn Batuta Awards for the Travel Literature.
The Prize went to her book "Khatawat Fi Shanghai- Maa'na El Masafa Bin Al Qahera Wi Bekeen" (Steps in Shanghai- The Moral of the Distance between Cairo and Bejing."
In the same context, poet Nawai El Garah, the Arab Center for Geo Literature, said that this year's submitted works were characterized by persity, that's why there is more than one winner in various categories.
This edition's jury included Morrocan researcher Taaeh El Hadawi, Syrian critic Khaldon Shamaa', Palestinian poet Abdel Rahman Bseso, Syrian-Palestinian researcher Ahmed Barkawy, Iraqi author Awaad Ali, and Syrian author Mofeed Negm.
The award ceremony will be organized in May 2021 and a seminar will be held on the sidelines of the ceremony.
Ibn Batuta Prize for the Travel Writing is one of the most Arabic prestigious literary awards as it spots light on Geo writing and travel literature in the Arab world.
