Dr. Khaled Sorrour, the Director of the Sector of Fine Arts, received Murad Gatin, the director of Russian cultural centers in Egypt, and Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities.
They agreed upon the necessity of making use of the Year of Humanitarian Cooperation 2021 which was presented by President Abdel Fattah Sisi, and Vladimir Putin for deepening the Russian-Egyptian relations, especially in the field of fine arts.
The meeting asserted the importance of the fine arts in the process of cultural exchange, therefore, the meeting include the framework of setting an agreement of intention for mutual cooperation. The agreement includes organizing exhibitions for the Russian artists by the Egyptian Sector of Fine Arts.

On his side, Sorrour welcomed the cooperation with the Russian House in Cairo, revealing that he visited it a lot during his university year, in addition to welcoming organizing joint exhibitions between Russian and Egyptian artists.
In the same context, Gatin asserted the importance of fine arts as they represent the photographic memory for any society, and he expressed his desire in learning more about the Egyptian fine arts, in addition, he announced the opening of the halls of the Russian Cultural Center in Egypt for the Egyptian artists.
On his side, Gad said that the mutual cooperation between both countries will be a strong bridge of bringing the Russian artists to be in direct contact with the Egyptian ones, alongside, the recommendations of the Egyptian artists to participate in exhibitions in Russia.
