The season featured the princess meeting and marrying a young Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and dealing with the stress of worldwide fame.
It also highlighted the princess’s struggle with an eating disorder and her affair with James Hewitt (Daniel Donskoy) after learning of Charles’ romance with Camilla Parker Bowles (Emerald Fennel).
Prince Charles will be played by Dominic West in the fifth and sixth seasons, taking over from Josh O’Connor.
