On the release day of his new album, "Konnakol," Zayn Malik has been admitted to a hospital due to a mysterious health scare.

The former One Direction singer shared on social media that he was in the hospital and "unexpectedly recovering” after the medical emergency.

Posting a photo of himself in a hospital gown with monitors and an IV attached to his body, he wrote Friday on his Instagram Story, “To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always.”

“Been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” the British singer continued. “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding. Thank you to all the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who had helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!”.

The news comes on the same day "Konnakol" — his first full-length since 2024’s "Room Under the Stairs" — arrived on streaming services.

The album marks Malik's fifth studio album since parting ways with One Direction in 2015.

“Five solo albums now — I was just buzzing that I got to do the first one after [leaving] the band, [and] people seemed to care,” he said on "Call Her Daddy" podcast in February. “I’m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.”

Malik made history as a member of One Direction and was the first to split from the band in pursuit of a solo career. He released his first single "Pillowtalk," and first album "Mind of Mine," in 2016.
