Zayn Malik Announces First Solo Tour of His Career, "Stairway to the Sky"

Nearly a decade after leaving One Direction, Zayn Malik is ready to take the show on the road for the first time in his solo career this fall.

On Wednesday, the singer announced that he’ll be embark on his first-ever tour, “Stairway to the Sky”, includes 11 dates in the U.K. and the U.S.

The trek, produced by AEG and SJM, is scheduled to begin October 23 in San Francisco, making stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and D.C. before wrapping the North American leg on November 2 in New York City. It will continue through the U.K. on November 20 in Edinburgh, with stops in Manchester, London and more before concluding on December 3 in Newcastle.

Malik will be performing in support of “Room Under the Stairs,” his long-awaited fourth studio album released earlier this year (and his first on new label Mercury Records). The project was co-produced with Grammy-winner Dave Cobb, with Zayn describing the album as an opportunity “for the listener to get more insight on me personally as a human being — my ambitions, my fears.”

Tickets to the tour will be available starting with the Zayn VIP Key Presale on September 19 with additional presales running throughout the week. General on-sale will begin on September 21 at 11 a.m. local at inzayn.com.

Zayn recently performed for the first time since 2016 for an intimate one night-only gig, and delivered his first television appearance since in eight years singing “Alienated” — the second single from “Room” —on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” He returned to the show on Tuesday night to tease the tour announcement.
