Zamalek Club sent an official letter to the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, stating its apology for playing the Al-Ahly match tomorrow, Tuesday, at Cairo Stadium in the Premier League competitions.
This came based on the agreement between Zamalek President Hussein Labib, association officials and the Minister of Sports in today’s session, so that Al-Ahly and the referees’ crew will not go to the match stadium tomorrow in the absence of Zamalek, which is a scene that does not befit Egyptian football.
Hussein Labib, President of the Zamalek Club, had held a meeting hours ago with the Minister of Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, and the President of the Club Association, Ahmed Diab, in an attempt to resolve the crisis. After that, the technical staff of Zamalek notified the team’s players of entering a closed camp after today’s training, in preparation for the summit match against Al-Ahly. It is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, at Cairo Stadium.
Hours after the players were informed of entering a camp in preparation for the summit, they were informed again that the summit match camp had been cancelled.
For his part, Ahmed Salem, the official spokesman for Zamalek Club, confirmed that they are in the process of issuing an official statement shortly to reveal all the details.
