Renowned Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass attended the rehearsals of Verdi’s opera “Aida”, scheduled to be performed today, Sunday, in the Italian city of Termona. During the rehearsals, members of the orchestra and singers were eager to take commemorative photos with him.
Continuing his cultural tour in Italy, Hawass also signed copies of his novel “King Khufu” in the city of Syracuse, where a large audience gathered to meet him. He spoke passionately about his admiration for King Khufu, answered questions from attendees, and all available copies of the book quickly sold out.
Hawass also gave an extensive interview to the editor-in-chief of Cecilia Newspaper, the leading daily in the city, where he discussed his novel “King Khufu” and the anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The interviewer described him as “the most famous archaeologist in the world, adored by the Italian public.”
