Egyptian actor Youssef El Sherif will no longer participate in Ramadan 2023 drama marathon.
El Sherif announced some time ago the start of preparations for the series.
The untitled series was written by Engy Alaa and directed by Hossam Ali.
According to the "El Dostor" newspaper, the series was postponed to Ramadan 2024 due to requiring a longer time for preparations.
This is El Sharif's second consecutive year to be absent from the drama marathon.
He made his last participation in the 2021 TV series “Covid-25”.
“Covid-25” consists of 15 episodes and is written by Alaa, directed by Ahmed Nader Galal, and produced by Synergy production company.
It also starred Ayten Amer, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Amir Salaheldeen, Safaa El-Toukhi, Diana Hisham, Myrna Noureldin, Randa El Behery, and others.
“Covid-25” revolves around the spread of a dangerous epidemic in the country, which causes madness and seizures for the infected. It also focuses on the role of doctors and nurses in facing this epidemic.
On the other hand, El Sherif is preparing to make his comeback to the big screen after a 4-year hiatus.
The actor starred in his last on-screen appearance in 2018's "Banny Adam".
