Egyptian actor Youssef El Sherif is gearing up to make a comeback to the big screen after six years of absence.
The project titled, "Derby Al Mawt" is supported by the Big Time Fund, in cooperation with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), and the United Media Services Company (UMS).
Principal photography is set to begin soon.
El Sherif made his last onscreen appearance in the 2018 film “Bani Adam”, which featured a starry cast that included Ahmed Rizk, Dina El Sherbiny, Hannah El Zahed, Khaled Kamal, late Mahmoud El Gendy, Ahmad Seyam, and Safaa Al Toukhy.
It hailed from scriptwriter Amr Samir Atef and director Ahmad Galal.
El Sherif was born Muhammed Esmaeel on December 14, 1978, in Cairo.
He graduated from Ain Shams University with a mechanical engineering degree. El Sherif was a former athletic who played football and volleyball at Al Ahly SC and participated in Karate international championships in Tunisia and Hungary.
El Sherif made his acting debut in the 2004 film “7playing Cards” co-starring Ruby, following which he co-starred in several TV series and film productions such as “Fattah Eenek”, “Ala Naar Hadi’a”, “El Amel 1001”, and “Heya Fawda”.
El Sherif rose to stardom in 2012 when he co-starred in the TV series “Al Moatn Ex”.
He soon became known for co-starring in TV series such as “Kafr Delhab, “El-Caesar”, “Leaabet Eblis”, “El Sayyad”, “Ism Moaqat”, and “Rakam Maghol”.
