Egyptian actress Yosra El Lozy is making her acting comeback after one-year hiatus.
The actress put her career on pause following the death of her father, theater director Mahmoud El Lozy, who passed away in November 2021.
Now, she is ready to make her acting comeback with the film "Mummies Group".
The film follows a parents' WhatsApp group for school that brings together three mothers from different social classes.
It follows Maryam and Nadia (Ruby and El-Lozy) who have bad relations with their children and find help from former Miss Egypt (Moustafa), who decides to help them get closer to their children.
Filmmaker Amr Salah directed the film from a script by Ehab Blaybel and Ghada Abdel Aal.
El Lozy has also joined the cast of the TV series "Gamila", which is set to be screened in the Ramadan 2023 drama marathon.
She made her last on-screen appearance in the story "Bel Waraqa Wel Qalam" from the second season of the female-led TV series “Ella Ana” (Except me), which was shown in August 2021.
El Lozy, born on August 8, 1985, earned a degree in political science from AUC.
During her college years, she acted in many AUC Theatre productions such as “A Silly Goose”, “The Sultan’s Dilemma”, “Sulayman EL Halabi” and the “Reader”.
El Lozy made her first experience in professional acting in prominent director Youssef Chahine's film, ”Alexandria… New York”.
During her career, she was keen to present new roles in her profession, where she expressed her generation with roles in films “Stolen Kisses” and “Bel Alwan El Tabeaya”.
She reflected in “Bel Alwan El Tabeaya” the inner struggle of many young women in our society who face daily conflict about the righteous path they should take in their lives.
In 2009, El Lozy experienced acting in independent movies and appeared in “Heliopolis” directed by Ahmed Abdallah alongside Khaled Abol Naga, Hanan Motawie, and Hany Adel.
In 2010, she appeared in small roles on TV and in cinema and acted in some major roles such as TV series like “Al Gamaa (TV series)” when she played Sherine, a patriotic TV presenter.
The TV series “Al Gamaa” was the talk of the Arab Region, due to its great production quality, well-written plot, and controversial topic.
