American rapper Ye's upcoming concert at one of Egypt's most iconic monuments, the Djoser's Step Pyramid in Saqqara, on Saturday, April 20, the event's organizer Venture Lifestyle announced.
"The anticipated hi-fidelity audio experience taking place in the step pyramid of Djoser, Saqqara, has been postponed, along with other Ye tour dates in April, upon ye's team's request," the company said in a statement on Instagram.
It continued, "This listening experience remains scheduled to take place in Saqqara during 2024. The new date will be announced soon,".
Refunds are available from the point of purchase via ticketegypt. Those who wish to make refund requests have to be sent to [email protected] from the same email address that made the booking.
"Alternatively, you can choose to keep your ticket and get ready το attend this historical listening experience later this year!" the company affirmed.
"We'd like to apologize on behalf of the artist's management. additionally, we apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support and understanding,".
"We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism for their invaluable assistance in obtaining all the necessary permits and their ongoing support," it concluded.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was set to present the gig alongside Ty Dolla $ign, becoming one of the first rappers to perform at the iconic monument.
He was set to be joined by four additional supporting acts, promising an electrifying performance.
Following the release of his latest collaboration album, "Vultures", the multi-hyphenate had hinted at a possible performance in Cairo later in the year.
