Egyptian actor, Yasser Galal, who has been absent from the big screen for many years, has opened up about the reason for his absence.

Galal made his last cinematic appearance in the 2015 film “Shad Agzaa” and starred in a cameo appearance in the 2019 film “Sabaa Al-Baramba” with Ramez Galal.

"I have two film projects that I'm waiting for the opportunity to make and present well, however, working on TV productions is keeping me busy," he said.

Galal added, "Every year, I sit and work hard to present a work that turns out well, respects the mentality of the viewer, and delivers a message that benefits people, which takes up all my time,”.

He affirmed that he make his big screen return when he finds a respectable project as well as strong distributor support, and a strong producer.Alf Lela W Lela: Judar

On the other hand, Galal is participating in the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon with the TV series “Judar: Alf Lela W Lela".

The reimagining was initially set to participate last Ramadan but was postponed for 2024 due to the many preparations that the series requires, as well as the long shooting schedule. Now, the series will be screened during Ramadan for two consecutive years.

“Judar: Alf Lela W Lela" is a reimagining of the classic tale of Shahryar and Scheherazade.

The cast also includes Yasmine Rais, Nour, Ahmed Maher, Tara Emad, Mayan El Sayed, Mohamed Riyad, Mohamed El Tagy, Ahmed Bedier, Abdelaziz Makhyoun, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Wafaa Amer, Ayten Amer, Mohamed Ali Rezk, and more.

The reimagining features Galal as Shahryar, Rais as Scheherazade, El Tagy as Qamar Al-Zaman, Hanady Mehanna as a mermaid, and Ahmed Badir as a noble of Morocco.

The series is scripted by Anwar Abdel-Mugheeth, directed by Islam Khairy, and produced by Media Hub and Aroma.

“Judar: Alf Lela W Lela" will be the largest production participating in the Ramadan marathon and is set to be screened in the second half of the holy month.
