Egyptian actor, Yasser Galal's TV series “Alf Leila We Leila” will no longer participate in the Ramadan 2023 drama marathon.
The series got postponed for Ramadan 2024 due to the many preparations that the series requires, as well as the long shooting schedule.
Principal photography is set to begin next month.
The series is a reimagining of the classic tale of Shahryar and Scheherazade.
The cast also includes Mohamed Riyad, Yasmine Rais, Sherry Adel, and Ahmed Maher.
It features Galal as Shahryar and Rais playing Scheherazade.
The series is scripted by Anwar Abdel-Mugheeth and directed by Islam Khairy.
Nonetheless, Galal is still planning to participate in Ramadan 2023 with the romantic TV series "Elaqah Mashroa".
The 15-episode series also stars Khaled El-Sawy, Mai Omar, and Basma.
Galal participated last Ramadan in the third season of the acclaimed TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice).
About 200 stars participated in the series including Ahmed El Sakka, Ahmed Ezz, Khaled El Sawy, Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Bayoumi Fouad, Sabry Fawwaz, and others.
“El Ekhteyar 3” also featured Karim Abdel Aziz reprising his role as Zakaria Younes from the previous season.
The latest installment was scripted by Hany Sarhan and directed by Peter Mimi.
The series showcased for the first time the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization’s brief rise to power in Egypt after the 2011 revolution and their overthrow.
It also follows the most dangerous 96 hours in the history of the country.
