Rising Egyptian actress Yasmina El Abd has landed with "Watch IT" and "Shahid" her first major TV role.
The project titled, "Midterm", is a joint collaboration between Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, United Media Services, and United Studios.
In her directorial debut, Mariam El Bagoury helms, "Midterm," a youthful social drama that follows the lives of Egyptian and Arab students as they navigate their academic and personal journeys at an Egyptian university.

The cast also includes Youssef Raafat, Jala Hesham, Omnia Bahy, and more.
El Bagoury directs the drama from a script by Mohamed Sadek.
"Midterm" is set to debut on "ON E" TV Channel on Sunday, December 7. It will also be available on the "Watch IT" and "Shahid" platforms.
Born in Switzerland to an Egyptian family, El Abd started her career in advertising at the age of nine. She was featured in the film "Daughters of Abdul-Rahman" in 2021, the Netflix original series "Finding Ola", the HBO Max series "Theodosia" in 2022, and the groundbreaking Arabic-language musical feature "Sukkar" in 2023 and its follow-up in 2025.
Abd roles also include "Daughters of Abdel Rahman" and "Fadl we Neama".
Alongside her scripted roles, she was a presenter for National Geographic Abu Dhabi and has also released three music videos on YouTube with over 5.8 million views combined. She shares life and career updates on her Instagram platform.
