WWE Hall of Fame 2023 Highlights

Early Saturday, World Wrestling Entertainment organized its annual Hall of Fame ceremony for honoring sports entertainment legends who impacted the world of wrestling entertainment.

The activities of the Hall of Fame took place, immediately, after the Friday Night SmackDown episode, on the eve of NXT Stand & Deliver, and WrestleMania night 1.

There was a 15-minute kickoff for preparing the venue to fit the theme of the HOF ceremony. 

There are different interviews backstage with different stars. 

In addition, a number of teasers and video packages for WrestleMania 39 matches were screened during the event.

Corey Graves and Kayla Braxton hosted the 2-hour ceremony.

The first inductee was a popular WWE diva and one of the original Nitro Girls Stacy Keibler.

She was inducted by Mick Foley and Torrie Wilson. Hardcore legend revealed that Stacy asked him to induct her along with Wilson. 

Wilson talked about her relationship with Keibler during their run in WCW, and WWE, alongside their journey in the world of wrestling. 

On her side, Keibler said it is great to be home and praised the WWE Universe for being the reason for the one she is now. 

She also talked about how a super fan of wrestling turned out to be one of the pillars of the WWE divas. 

Then, a video message from WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "the King" Lawler was screened from his home to introduce Jimmy Hart.

Hart stepped onto the stage to induct the late popular comedian Andy Kaufman, and how the star's rivalry with Lawler impacted the business of wrestling.

Shortly, Hart then brought out Kaufman’s family members to the ring. and they talked about his love for wrestling.

The third inductee of the night was Japanese pro wrestling legend the Great Muta, who retired early this year, and he was inducted by WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

In a long speech, Flair talked about the contributions of Muta and how he developed the arsenal of wrestling move sets and signature moves. 

A number of WWE superstars were thrilled about the induction of Muta such as Asuka, and Shinsuke Nakamura. 

Muta appeared on the stage where he received a massive pop from the fans in the hall.

He delivered a short speech before Muta spat out his famous mist.

Shortly, Ron Simmons and JBL gave the induction speech for Tim White. Both legends talked about the contributions of White in the ring, and how he was a great and passionate person.

Finally comes the induction of Luchadore legend Rey Mysterio, who was inducted by the Godfather of Lucha Libre Konan.

Konnan talked about how he got Mysterio booked and their work with promoters. He also discussed Mysterio's journey through ECW/WCW, including his tryout match with Dean Malenko.

The Latino legend praised Mysterio for being just as good of a human being as a wrestler, joking that he wanted to be adopted so he could replace Dominik. 

Dominik and Judgment Day members did not stand up during the induction of Mysterio and left the hall. 

Mysterio responded that he’ll take care of business tomorrow at WrestleMania.

In an impressive and emotional speech, Mysterio talked about how he started his wrestling career at the age of eight and how he met Konan.

He also talked about the influence of his uncle Rey Mysterio Senior. 

The Luchadore icon also revealed the struggles he faced with his wife  Angie, praising her for supporting him emotionally, and financially during those struggles.

He also mentioned his relationship with Eddie Guerrero and his match against him at Halloween Havoc match in 1997 that put him on the map. 

He concluded by thanking his family, friends, promoters, and the WWE Universe for supporting him.
