Hollywood's Film Academy announced on Friday that it will ban Will Smith from attending any of its events, including the Oscars ceremony for 10 years after slapping the latest ceremony's latest Chris Rock on the stage.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President David Rubin and Chief Executive Dawn Hudson said in a statement: "The 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration of the many inpiduals in our community who did incredible work this past year."

"However, those moments were overshadowed by the unacceptable and harmful behaviour we saw Mr. Smith exhibit on stage."

Previously, Smith has resigned from the Film Academy after his latest incident with Chris Rock in the latest Oscars Awards ceremony last week, the actor announced last week

Smith highlighted in his statement that he will accept any decisions issued by the board of the Film Academy on his action of slapping Rock’s face during the award ceremony.

The actor said that he will “fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct. My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable.”

On the other hand, Film academy Director David Rubin announced that Smith’s resignation was accepted.

Rubin added: “We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18.”
