On Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) approved the Chinese Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use.
This is the second Chinese vaccine that got an approval for emergency use after Sinopharm.
Also, the international organization will allow the newly approved vaccine to be included in the COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX) initiative for providing vaccines to poor and developing countries. It added that the process of providing poor countries with vaccines facing a problem due to India's demand for vaccines.
WHO's experts recommended using the Chinese vaccine to adults over 18.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General hailed the recent decision as it will help more countries to face the virus.
