The World Bank makes $12 billion in COVID-19 vaccine financing available and will approve vaccination financing in more than 50 countries by the end of June.

World Bank President David Malpass said on Tuesday that the World Bank has $12 billion in financing for the COVID-19 vaccine and will approve vaccination financing in more than 50 countries by the end of June.

"It is imperative to speed up the supply chain for distributing vaccines, including shortening manufacturing times, approvals and allocating vaccines that have already been produced," Malpass said in a joint press conference with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Trade Organization (WTO),
