New footage from the highly-anticipated movie “Where the Crawdads Sing” has been released on Monday.
The movie takes place in the deep, forested marshlands of North Carolina between 1952 and 1969, and follows the story of a young woman named Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones), whose life takes a turn for the worse when she’s named the number one suspect in the murder of her ex-love interest.
It follows two timelines that eventually converge into one where the audience sees both sides of Kya's story come together.
The movie also stars Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer Jr., and David Strathairn.
The footage was simple and sweet despite the fact that the plot isn't going to be a happy one to explore. It showed Kya (Edgar-Jones) and Tate Walker (Smith) talking to each other and admitting their feelings for one another.
The movie is adapted from the best-selling 2018 novel of the same title by Delia Owens. It is backed by Reese Witherspoon and her Hello Sunshine productions along with 3000 Pictures.
It was adapted by Lucy Alibar and directed by Olivia Newman.
American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift has created an original song titled “Carolina“, for the upcoming thriller.
“Where The Crawdads Sing” is set to hit theatres on July 22.
