Welad Rizk franchise director Tarek Al Eryan has offered an update on the long-awaited third outing in the franchise, "Welad Rizk 3: El Qadya" (Sons of Rizk 3: The knockout).
"The 'Welad Rizk' film has a special case and people have a certain expectation for it," he said.
Al Eryan continued, "To make a third part for 'Welad Rizk', we had to think very well and came up with a good idea."
He added that the upcoming film will introduce new faces as well as feature some old faces returning for the threequel.
Asser Yassin is confirmed to reprise his role as Al Shayeb in the threequel and will have more screen time for the character in preparation for the "Welad Rizk" spin-off film "Al Shayeb" (The King).
The film was first announced in 2019 in the post-credit scene of "Welad Rizk 2".
"Welad Rizk" first premiered in 2015 and hails from screenwriter Salah El Gehiny and director Tarek Alarian.
The film features an all-star ensemble cast that includes Ahmed Ezz, Amr Youssef, Ahmed Dawood, Karim Qassem, Mohamed Mamdouh, and Ahmed El Fishawy.
"Welad Rizk 3" is set to premiere sometime later in 2024.
