Wegz to Make Feature Acting Debut Alongside Asmaa Galal in "El Cinema"

Egyptian rapper Wegz is set to make his feature acting debut alongside actress Asmaa Galal in the film "El Cinema".

The plot details are being kept under wraps, except for the pic is a romantic musical hailing from Adel Arabi. 

Principal photography will begin in Egypt and abroad after the holy month of Ramadan.

Ahmed Ali, known as “Wegz,” is one of the distinguished rappers in Egypt and the Arab world.

He began his music career in 2017 by releasing a few tracks including “Batalo Fake” featuring Hesham Raptor, and “Barbeque”.

The rapper has also collaborated with several musicians such as Molotof, DJ Totti, L5VAV, Fishawy, and Savage Plug. His song “ElBakht” was Egypt's and the region's top-streamed song, followed by “B3oda Ya Belady” and “Keify Keda,” coming in fourth and tenth in Egypt, respectively.

"ElBakht" was also the most streamed Arabic song on Anghami in 2022, with 45 million plays across 11 MENA countries, breaking the record for the highest number of streams ever recorded in a single year.

In 2022, the rapper was named Spotify’s most-streamed Arab artist in MENA and Egypt's most-streamed artist for the third year in a row.
