A series of pictures show escaped monkeys while climbing on balconies and roofs in Giza’s Hadayek el-Ahram neighborhood, have spread across social media platforms.
The incident stirs panic and fear among the citizens.
General Director of Giza Zoo Mohamed Farouk denied that the monkeys had come from the zoo, adding that a committee has been formed to seize the monkeys and protect citizens.
Moreover, the Head of the Central Department of Zoos, Mohamed Ragaei, said that those monkeys are likely belong to someone who tried to get rid of them.
