The premiere date for “WandaVision” spinoff “Agatha All Along” has been unveiled.
The series will debut with two episodes on September 18 on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday.
Series star Kathryn Hahn took the stage with co-stars Joe Locke and Patti LuPone, who confirmed the series’ title after a number of changes.
The series was in the works back in October 2021. It was first called “Agatha: House of Harkness.” The title change to “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” by July 2022, and then to “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” in September 2023.
The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp. The spinoff picks up after the events of “WandaVision,” in which Agatha Harkness (Hahn) was left powerless thanks to Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), and will see her gathering some unlikely allies as she seeks to regain her powers.
The Marvel Studios series hails from Jac Schaeffer, the head writer and executive producer on “WandaVision,” who returns in that role for “Agatha All Along”.
Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos, and Brad Winderbaum also executive produce.
“WandaVision,” the first live-action MCU show on Disney+, racked up 23 Emmy nominations upon its debut, including one for Hahn for Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, including a Best Original Music and Lyrics Category for the song “Agatha All Along,” which was used as part of the reveal that Hahn’s character was not who she appeared to be.
