Nevin Al-Naqouri, the daughter of Egyptian veteran actress Soheir El Bably, shared Tuesday an update on her mother’s health after she was hospitalized in the ICU.
In a phone-in with "Al Kahera W Al Nas" TV channel, Al-Naqouri noted that her mother was suffering from a major health crisis that lasted for a month or a month and a half due to low blood sugar to the extent that the sugar was burned from her body.
She added that the ordeal was very hard for her and noted that she had stopped talking and eating as well as the protein in her body had decreased.
Al-Naqouri noted that her mother used to go to the hospital every now and then to get regular medical checkups.

She added that they are currently in the hospital, pointing out that her mother is not in a coma but her body is in extreme fatigue and her heart muscle stopped, however, the doctors revived her more than once.
"She entered difficult and strong stages and was exposed to shortness of breath and water on the lung," Al-Naqouri continued.
She added that her mother is currently on sedatives and in is critical condition, pointing out that she was eating from feeding tubes while on the respirator.
Al-Naqouri noted that her mother's dual lobe liver transplant that she had undergone in the past years affected her immunity and made her take many medications, adding that she recently had a stroke.
El Bably, born on February 14, 1937, graduated from the Institute of Theatrical Arts and is considered one of the most important theatrical actresses in Egypt.
She starred in many plays such as “Madrast El Moshaghbeen” (The Troublemakers School), “Al Dokhoul Belmalabes el Rasmya” (Entering with the Official Customs), “Attya El Erhabya” (Attya the Terrorist), and “Ala el Raseef” (On the Platform).
El Bably is best known for starring alongside prominent actress Esaad Yunis in the 1987 hit TV series “Bakiza and Zaghloul”, which is an important part of Egyptian drama history.
The veteran actress retired from acting in 1997, before returning to the small screen in the 2006 TV series “Qalb Habiba”.
