Veteran Egyptian actor Lotfy Labib announced on Saturday his retirement from acting.

This came during an honoring ceremony held at Arts Academy, in the presence of Culture Minister Enas Abdul Dayem.

Labib noted that he took this decision because of his illness, which made him unable to bear the hardships of this profession.

It is worth mentioning that, Labib, born on August 18, 1947, is an Egyptian stage, television, and film actor.

Labib has worked profusely, in many supporting but memorable roles, with over 200 film and television credits. Though many of his screen appearances have been brief, Labib has performed admirably and has shown himself to be one of the strongest performers of his generation.
