Ahmed Abu Zahra has revealed concerning developments regarding the health of his father, the veteran actor Abdelrahman Abu Zahra, who is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Cairo.
According to his son, the renowned actor had been in stable condition until recently, when he suddenly lost consciousness and was rushed to the hospital for detailed medical examinations.
Tests revealed the presence of an abnormal mass in the lung, raising doctors’ concerns about the possibility of a tumor.
He explained that the medical team has not yet been able to confirm a definitive diagnosis, as performing a minimally invasive procedure is not currently possible due to the deterioration of his condition.
The actor is reportedly suffering from severe breathing difficulties and recurrent episodes of unconsciousness.
Despite these complications, vital functions such as heart, kidney, and liver activity remain relatively stable.
However, the main concern lies in low oxygen levels, with Abu Zahra relying on respiratory support devices to maintain stability.
His condition has been described as unstable, with periods of complete unconsciousness alternating with limited responsiveness, particularly when he hears the voices of family members.
Doctors have decided to keep him in intensive care under continuous observation.
Abdelrahman Abu Zahra is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in Egyptian performing arts.
He began his career in theater before achieving widespread recognition in television dramas, most notably in Lan A'eesh Fi Gelbab Abi and Al Malik Farouk.
In addition to his work in cinema, he is widely recognized for his distinctive voice acting, particularly in the Arabic version of The Lion King, cementing his legacy as one of the most iconic voices in dubbing history.
