The 83rd Venice International Film Festival has announced the jury members for its Orizzonti competition and the Luigi De Laurentiis Award for First Film, with acclaimed filmmakers and industry figures set to evaluate this year's entries.
French filmmaker Valérie Donzelli will chair the Orizzonti Jury, joined by American film distributor Peter Becker, Hong Kong-born American director Elizabeth Lo, Mexican filmmaker David Pablos, and Italian actress Barbara Ronchi.
The Luigi De Laurentiis Award jury for First Film will be led by Italian filmmaker Carolina Cavalli, alongside British-Nigerian director Akinola Davies Jr. and American producer Ted Hope.
The festival, scheduled to run from September 2 to 12, will present its official awards during the closing ceremony at the Palazzo del Cinema on September 12.
Earlier, Venice confirmed that Maggie Gyllenhaal will preside over the international competition jury, while George Clooney will receive the festival's prestigious Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.
