Vanessa Hudgens and her husband, Los Angeles Angels player Cole Tucker, have welcomed their first child.
The couple were spotted leaving a hospital in Santa Monica, Calif., with their baby on Wednesday, which happens to be Tucker’s 28th birthday. The newborn’s sex and exact date of birth are unclear.
The “High School Musical” star kept her pregnancy news under wraps until March when she debuted her baby bump at the 2024 Oscars red carpet.
Hudgens continued showing off her maternity style in subsequent social media posts, with photos taken during Disneyland trips and date nights.
Hudgens, 35, and Tucker, 28, were first publicly linked in 2020, months after her split from former longtime boyfriend Austin Butler.
They first met on a meditation group call headed by Jay Shetty during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a 2021 Drew Barrymore Show interview, Hudgens recounted how she met Tucker in a Zoom meditation group during the peak of lockdowns.
“I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, ‘Hey it was nice to meet you,'” she said. “I think there’s no shame in making the first move. If you want it, why wait for someone else to give you what you want?”.
The following February, the pair made their romance Instagram official on Valentine’s Day.
“It’s you, it’s me, it’s us. @cotuck,” the “The Princess Switch” star captioned a photo showing her smooching the shortstop, while Tucker shared his own holiday post with the cheeky caption, “Happy V day ❤️ @vanessahudgens.”
Hudgens and Tucker made their red carpet debut as a couple at the AFI Fest Opening Night Gala in November 2021 for the premiere of her movie “Tick, Tick … Boom!”.
Though Tucker popped the question, Hudgens was the one who made the first move by sliding into the Pittsburgh Pirates player’s DMs.
“If I want something or someone, I’m going after them,” she previously stated.
The Disney Channel alum and the Colorado Rockies player revealed their engagement in February 2023 after two years of dating. They got engaged during a romantic trip to Paris.
"It's the most romantic city in the world," Vanessa told Vogue. "I was very surprised. I dropped a hint that that would be the ideal place, but kind of forgot about it because I didn't want to have any expectations on the trip. I just wanted to enjoy it for what it was, and he caught me completely off guard."
The couple tied the knot in an ultra-private ceremony in Tulum, Mexico in December of that same year.
