Scientists revealed that Van Gohh's "Starry Night" carries actual physics. A new analysis of the brushstrokes and colors in the famous painting depicted "hidden turbulence" in Earth's atmosphere.

The new research reviewed that the form of the sky and stars share many characteristics with fluid dynamics processes that happen in the atmosphere.

The researchers in China recognized some similarities between the used patterns and shapes in the painting and the patters in fluid dynamics.

In the new study, published on September 17, in the journal Physics of Fluids, the researchers suggested that the details of the painting found in the "hidden turbulence" of gases in the atmosphere.

Study co-author Yongxiang Huang, a fluid dynamics expert and oceanographer at Xiamen University in China, said: "It reveals a deep and intuitive understanding of natural phenomena."
