US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian stressed on Tuesday, the need to reach a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in Ukraine.
This came during a phone call between the US and French foreign ministers (FMs), according to a release by the US Department of State.
Both officials also said that Washington and Paris would continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia to stop its invasion of Ukraine, underlining the importance to strengthen the security of Ukrainian nuclear facilities.
It is worth mentioning that, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy renewed his invitation on Monday to meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
In a press statement, "The meeting with Putin is necessary to determine Russia's position on ending the war," Zelenskyy said.
