Following his visit to Cairo earlier this year, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau expressed deep admiration for Egypt’s growing economic and scientific potential.
Moreover, he emphasized that Egypt’s expanding workforce, strategic geographic location, and clear national ambition, when combined with American technological superiority, present a genuine opportunity for strategic integration between the two nations.
Landau also asserted that no other country can offer Egypt the same level of support in these critical fields.
Furthermore, he noted that the meetings held with Egyptian officials in Cairo last January laid the foundation for enhanced cooperation in technology and Artificial Intelligence, including the initiatives and announcements unveiled during the summit.
The US official also urged both sides to continue working toward finalizing agreements, fostering partnerships, and creating an environment conducive to the widespread adoption of AI applications.
Additionally, he stressed that this collaboration between Egypt and the United States could help build an innovation-driven future and deliver greater economic prosperity for both countries and the world.
With approximately two thousand American companies already operating in the Egyptian market, a robust base exists for future initiatives in advanced technology and Artificial Intelligence.
Landau also highlighted that the future of AI requires creating new infrastructure that encompasses semiconductor manufacturing facilities, data centers to operate them, and new energy sources to power these complex systems.
Moreover, the US official stated that American chips and AI technologies could catalyze a major transformation in Egypt, reaffirming that US companies are global leaders in building these systems and are eager to assist Egypt in developing them.
Furthermore, he pointed to the energy sector as one of the most vital components of this partnership. US companies are currently among Egypt's strongest partners in this field, contributing to the development of onshore and offshore energy resources while providing the reliable and affordable energy needed to meet growing demand.
Ultimately, this partnership will not be limited to supporting Egypt's economy in its current form. Instead, it will provide the essential infrastructure required to establish an AI ecosystem that will drive economic growth in the upcoming phase.
