A joint Egyptian-U.S archaeological team has uncovered the upper part of a colossal statue of the Pharaoh Ramses II, dating back over 3,200 years, south of Minya, Egypt.
The latest excavation is part of a larger statue that, when combined with the previously found lower part, will stand seven meters tall.
The colossal statue portrays Ramses II adorned with a double crown and hieroglyphic inscriptions that glorify his rule. This discovery highlights the rich history buried within Egypt's borders.
