Sony Pictures is still on track for "Uncharted 2".
During the studio’s presentation at the 2024 CineEurope trade show in Barcelona, it announced a slate of upcoming movies, including "Uncharted 2".
Based on publisher Sony and developer Naughty Dog’s hit video game series "Uncharted", the 2022 first movie follows Tom Holland’s cocky thief Nathan Drake as he sets off on a globe-trotting tour with grizzled sidekick Sully (Mark Wahlberg) in tow.
The end of "Uncharted " hinted that Nate’s brother Sam and/or Drake’s Fortune bad guy Gabriel Roman would be making an appearance. Although in the games it wasn’t until "Uncharted 4" that Sam was first introduced.
There were no other details contained in the announcement nor is it known whether both Holland and Wahlberg will return. They may play two of the video game’s main characters, however, one Uncharted title featured an entirely different pair of leads.
The Uncharted movie adaptation had a budget of $120 million (£94 million) and allocated $407 million (£320 million) worldwide, it’s currently the fifth-highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time.
