UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, praised the peace deal between UAE and Israel, expressing his hope that the deal would create new opportunities for negotiation between the Palestinians and the Israelis, Al Arabia reported.
This comes after the United Arab Emirates and Israel reached, on Thursday, a historic deal to normalize relations under American auspices, to stop further Israeli annexation of Palestinian territories.
A joint statement was issued by the United States of America, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates, stating that the agreement provides for “the conduct of full bilateral relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.”
Israel and the UAE also said they will continue their efforts to “achieve a just, comprehensive and enduring resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
“HUGE breakthrough today! Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!” US president Donald Trump tweeted yesterday.
