2 Best Movies to Be Remembered on Yusif Fakhr-Eddin's 87th Birth Anniv.

Today marks the 87th birth anniversary of the late actor Yusif Fakhr-Eddin, fondly known as Egypt’s Cinema’s Jeune-premier.

Fakhr-Eddin was an actor who etched his name in the hearts of both small and large screen audiences with his spectacular performances that will be remembered for many years to come.

Born on February 20, 1935, the late actor might have left this world at an early but his fans continue to remember him because of the strong character he played in his films, despite a short-lived career.

Throughout his short career, he featured in many notable films, such as “Case no.1," ‘Kam Ant Hazin,’ With my Love and longings, and 'Laila La Tonsa'.

In 1957, Fakhr-Eddin made his debut in showbiz with ‘Ana W Qalby’ as a young boy in starring his daughter the blond actress Mariam Fakhr-Eddine, who passed away in 2014.

From there on he rose to fame with a reputation of having a western appearance and romantic appeal. At a time when Hollywood had Cary Grant, we had this iconic guy Fakhr Eddine who represented the epitome of stardom.

His career included over 16 movies, among the most important being The Last Message, The Newspaper Seller, ‘Losos Lakn Zorafaa’, First Love, and That’s What Love Is.

His beloved wife  Egypt’s actress Nadia Saif El-Nasr was killed in a car accident in 1974 which caused him a case of severe depression, and as a result he left acting and moved to live in Greece until the end of his life.

The remarkable and acclaimed star passed away on 27, December 2002 after a struggle with illness, leaving despite his few works, a deep mark in the cinema and theater that remained in the people’s memory.

Today on the occasion of Fakhr-Eddin’s birth anniversary, let’s go down memory lane and have a look back at some of the best works of the late actor.

For A Woman (1959) 

 

Fakhr-Eddin featured in ‘For A Woman’ starring Omar Sharif, Laila Fawzy, and Mahmoud El Meligy in pivotal roles. The movie was based on James M. Cain's 1943 novel and revolves around an insurance salesman, Sharif and Fawzy as a provocative housewife who is accused of killing her husband, and El Meligy as an investigator.

3 Teen Girls (1973)

Featuring debutant Mervat Amin along with renowned actress Sohair Ramzi, this movie was a romantic drama directed by Abdirahman KiKhia. The film followed the lives of three teen girls and bad boys on their journey through life.
