"Twisted Metal" First Look Unveiled

Peacock released Friday the first teaser for the highly-anticipated series "Twisted Metal".

It stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Richard Cabral, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughans, and Lou Beatty Jr.

“Twisted Metal” is a half-hour action-comedy based on an original take by “Deadpool” creators Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

The game centers around a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

The video game adaptation features Mackie as John Doe, a motor-mouthed outsider destined for a better life, assuming he can survive the treacherous journey across a wasteland filled with savage marauders in death machines and deliver a mysterious package for a shadowy benefactor.

Sony Pictures TV and PlayStation Production are developing the project, which Michael Jonathan Smith penned and executive produced. 

Reese and Wernick will also serve as executive producers along with Will Arnett and Marc Forman, who will produce through their production company Electric Avenue. 

Peter Principato of Artists First is also attached to executive produce. Furthermore, Mackie’s longtime manager Jason Spire from Inspire Entertainment, Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions, and Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, will also serve as executive producers.

"Twisted Metal" premieres exclusively on Peacock on July 27.
