Season two of the hit TV series “Gaafar El Omda” will no longer screen during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.

Sources close to the situation revealed the series will not screen during the holy month due to the new policies of the drama, and limits set for production.

This comes after reports circulated around the exit of the series from the drama marathon.

The first season premiered last Ramadan drama marathon and was one of the most-watched TV series during its premiere.

The series starred Mohamed Ramadan, Eman El Assi, Zeina, Mai Kassab, Menna Fadali, Hala Sedki, Ahmed Dash, and others.

It was scripted and directed by Mohamed Sami and marked Ramadan and Sami’s fourth collaboration after the 2020 TV series “Al Prince”, the 2016 TV series “Al-Ostora”, and the 2017 film “Jawab E'teqal”.

The series opened up, as the actor's series usually do, with great tragedy: a kidnapped child, accidental killings, time in prison, and enemies galore, etc, as part of the package that comes with Gaafar, a rather fit 50-something real estate mogul living in El Sayeda Zeinab.

He is still trying to find his missing son and is fighting off his enemies right, left, and center.

Ramadan never fails to deliver his tried and true formula — fight scenes, sweet-talking the women, and doling out justice on family members who have a tendency to betray him.

On June 13, the TV series has been renewed for season 2. It is directed by Mohamed Sami from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mohab Tarek. The series is produced by Media Hub.

Eman El Assi, Zeina, and Hala Sedki opted not to return for the upcoming season.
