Egyptian actor Ahmed Amin's TV series "El Soffara" (The Whistle) has been renewed for a second season.
Season two will be filmed under the title, "What happened in Gamasa?", named after the frequently asked question which was repeated from the beginning of the episodes, and its answer remained unanswered.
The first season debuted during the first half of the Ramadan 2023 drama marathon and achieved great success during premiere time.
The cast also includes Ahmed Amin, Taha Dessouky, Ayah Samaha, Hatem Salah, Maria Osama, Enaam Salousa, Walid Abdelghany, and others.
Alaa Ismail directed the series from a screenplay by Amin.
The series consisted of 15 episodes and marked Amin's first lead role in a drama. It followed Shafeeq, a tour guide, (Amin) who steals Tutankhamun's time travel whistle. A golden opportunity to get a do-over for his life and achieve his dreams.
The season finale ended with Shafeeq understanding that the whistle was taking him back to the past to try to change what happened, but he was presenting versions of himself that weren't the best.
He understood that contentment is the most important thing in life, and that the life he was living is the best, especially in the presence of people around him who support him, and all he had to do was change reality and not give up.
Shafeeq opened a children's play store and sold pharaonic figures as well as tours with the children and tells them history in an entertaining way.
He also discovered that he still has a chance with Sherine since she did not marry Alaa.
