Tutankhamun Exhibition in Paris Breaks Record with 1,423,170 visitors

Exhibition of King Tutankhamun, at the Grande Halle de la Villette in Paris, closed its doors Sunday evening, breaking the visitor record in the history of cultural exhibitions in France.

Nearly 1,423,170 people have visited the exhibition in the past six months since it was opened by Minister of Antiquities, Khaled El Anany, On March 23, 2019.

“In 1967, when France hosted it for the first time, King Tutankhamun's exhibition attracted 1,240,975 visitors. Today, 52 years later, the young king's exhibition, on its second trip to Paris, attracted more than 1.4 million visitors,” El Anany said.

He added that despite the success of these two exhibitions, they allowed the French people and the peoples of the world to watch few treasures of the Golden King and the ancient civilization of Egypt.

The Minister of Antiquities stressed that this exhibition represents an invitation to attract and encourage millions of visitors to travel to Egypt to watch thousands of pieces of the Golden King treasures and enjoy watching many archaeological sites and museums throughout Egypt.

Noteworthy, Tutankhamun “Pharaoh’s Treasures exhibition was inaugurated by the Egyptian Antiquities Minister and the French Culture Minister last March. It will be transferred to the British capital “London”, where it will be inaugurated in early November in its third stop after Los Angeles in USA, and Paris.
