Crew members sustained injuries during the filming of an explosion scene in the Turkish Series "Aile" (The Family), starring Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Serenay Sarıkaya.
In a statement, Ay Yapım, the production company behind the series, announced the incident during the filming of episode 11.
The company added that the crew was filming a car exploding scene, there was no problem during the first and second time, but an unexpected and out-of-control explosion occurred the third time.
Ay Yapım assured that none of the main stars or crew were seriously injured.
Ipek Bagriacik suffered a minor scare during the accident and was taken to the hospital after managing to save her hair from burning at the last moment. There were minor burns on Nejat İşler's beard and Canan Ergüder's hair.
The statement launched an investigation into the accident.
"Aile" follows the story of Aslan, who is the son of a prominent family and runs a nightclub. He is an extremely shrewd man with a dark and mysterious character. He meets psychologist Devin on a plane and gets married.
The cast also includes Nur Sürer, Nejat İşler, Levent Ülgen, Emel Göksu, Ushan Çakır, and İpek Tenolcay.
"Aile" premiers on Show TV on Tuesday, at 8 pm (Turkish time), and on the Shahid VOD service.
