Today, Saturday, Turkish Foreign Minister(FM) Mevlut Cavusoglu accused the United States of America (USA) of supporting terrorism in Syria, calling on Washington to abandon its "wrong" policy in this country.

During a joint press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart Felix Placencia in Ankara, Çavuşoğlu commented on the US extension of its sanctions against Turkey.

He noted that the USA   is cooperating in Syria with the (Kurdish) People's Protection Units (YPG) and provides them with "great support", while considered the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) organization (of which Ankara considers the People's Protection Units a part) is a terrorist organization.

Cavusoglu stressed that this situation is a "crime under US law."

The head of Turkish diplomacy denied that fighting ISIS was the real purpose of the United States' presence in Syria.

He pointed out that the Turkish government knows very well that the purpose of being there is not to fight against ISIS.

He added that Turkey is still fighting  ISIS as the only army fighting against ISIS is our army in NATO and in the scientist".

Cavusoglu  went on to say that the USA supports a separatist terrorist organization that is trying to pide Syria,

He slammed  Washington as saying that instead of blaming Turkey, it must first abandon its wrong policies. It must also be more honest with the American people and US Congress."

However, on the seventh of last September, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the US presence in Syria is linked to the presence of oil fields there, while Turkey is there because it has common borders with Syria and wants to combat terrorism.

Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed that "the Americans should know that they are not in Syria at its invitation and they do not have a common border."

He stressed Turkey fights  in Syria because she has common borders, and there is a danger of terrorism, and we have the right to be there."

He affirmed that Ankara supports  Syria's territorial integrity and provides  her with humanitarian aid."
