Rescuers in northeastern Thailand have rescued dozens of people affected by severe flooding, while authorities have tried to control the situation and deliver more aid to the victims.

At least seven people were killed and one was missing in last week's floods that affected nearly 200,000 families in 30 provinces in north and northeastern Thailand.

The authorities issued a warning after the rising of water levels in the Chao Praya River, noting that it could cause flooding in the capital, Bangkok, and surrounding areas.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Thai authorities declared a state of emergency in Bangkok, after flood waters inundated about 70,000 homes and killed 6 people in the northern and central provinces of the country
