Sonia Ben Khelil, a renowned Tunisian fashion designer, told (SEE) that she is fascinated by Egypt's Nile river, which will inspire her in the coming collection.
Ben Khelil visited Egypt for the first time in April 2019 to introduce her designs in the International Fashion Award. The event was held in one of the hotels overlooking the river.
During her stay in Egypt, she visited the Nile river, the pyramids and felt the greatness of the Egyptian civilization.
"I know Egypt’s landmarks through the TV but they’re more charming in reality," she added.
Next Visit
The Tunisian fashion designer's next visit to Egypt will last for 2 weeks; she will pay visit to Alexandria, Hurghada, Luxor and Ain al-Sokhna.
Fashion Shows
Ben Khelil participated in 3 fashion shows in Paris beside other shows in Oman, Morocco and Lebanon.
AFCON 2019
Ben Khelil stated that she’s following the African Cup of Nations AFCON 2019 from Tunisia and wishing the best of luck for her national team.
She congratulated Egypt upon winning the first match and praised the professional performance of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and the Tunisian international and Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi.
She mentioned that her husband is a member in the African club in Tunisia; which resembles Zamalek Club in Egypt.
Classy Designs
Ben Khelil introduced fancy designs with perfect cuts to hide women bodies’ imperfections.
She depends on hand embroidery with gemstones, Swarovski stones; that are characterized by their special sparkle.
Regarding the fabrics used, she usually merges muslin, silk, satin and crepe textiles.
Tunisian Bride
Brides is Tunisia usually spend few days wearing evening dresses, other traditional Tunisian outfits besides the main white wedding dress.
In the traditional dresses, the designer adds some modern touches to match the fashion lines.
Regarding wedding dresses, she usually use fancy materials and fabrics like dentelle and geber.
