CAIRO, Mar. 27 (SEE)- Overlooking the banks of the Nile, fashion stylists revealed on Sunday a variety of their latest trends competing in the fifth edition of the International Fashion Award (IFA), which took place at the Semiramis InterContinental Hotel in Cairo.

-Spring roses

The show started with the talented Egyptian fashion designer Nagwa Zahran, who presented Spring items in white, light gray sprinkled with spring roses, orange, and red colors. Lines were confined to the body specifically to show the resiliency of the waist, including a sash bow in more than one design.

Aligning unique designs, and haute couture measures, Zahran presented some of her unique ideas including sexy backless halter and fishtail bodycon maxi dresses.

Designs also included straight cut dress down till the ankles with panels adorned with handcrafted tassels and beads. The collection was stylish and elegant, handcrafted in quality fabrics including skillful details that can be worn day to day.

Dentelle, silk, chiffon, lace, and brocade were among the fabrics used in most of the designs on that event. Embroidery was limited to the taste of the new generation, especially in the red dresses that were embroidered with gold and silver.

-Tunisia The Green

Her designs are worn worldwide, she is none but, the one and only Sonia Ben Khelil. The Tunisian stylist has drawn attention to her designs for more than 20 years. The distinctly experienced designer has thrown shows in Tunis, Beirut, Dubai, Paris, Milan, Lyon, Geneva and Cairo.

Without a doubt, she presented a strong, elegant, distinctive and contemporary spirit within the traditional Arabian clothes in her own genuine mix.

-African Spice

Before the launch of the third mixed show, combining men's and women's wear, African drums and tunes accompanied a distinctive collection of imaginative designer Lilly Alfonso. She presented a collection reflecting her talent and ability to mix heritage African spirit with contemporary designs.

Alfonso presented trending men's suits, which came narrowly along with cropped trousers revealing one's ankle. Longer suits with African textiles embroidered were also displayed, appearing to have been custom-tailored to the last millimeter.

At the end of the show, Alfonso came out greeting the audience with a traditional dance from her homeland, Malawi.

-Morocco's Caftans

International Moroccan designer Salima El-Boussouni presented a range of exquisite and sophisticated designs, mainly handcrafted caftans, displaying her very own modern version of it.

El-Boussouni has been named one of the most iconic designers and has become an inspiration for many Arabs, who aim to develop their talents in the fashion industry. Her style combines a blend of Moroccan tradition with modern aesthetics.

Caftan collection was extremely luxurious, yet, so sophisticated in its distinctive and perse colors.

The event also witnessed the participation of the Algerian fashion designer Amel Bel-Mokhtar, who was the youngest participant this year, establishing her Haute Couture brand name among the top brands in the Arab world.

- The creativity of Abdul Muttalib's grandson

It was always good for a fashion designer to have a cultural or artistic heritage, yet, Egyptian Mohamed Nour has both. Nour is a distinguished decorative engineer and the grandson of late traditional singer Muhammad Abdul Muttalib, whose songs are still very popular among Arabs.

Nour presented three designs inspired by his grandfather's songs, including "Saken Fi Hay El-Sayeda", "Bayaa Al Hawa", and "Leila Beida". He also exhibited nine astonishing designs inspired by the Zodiacs, using tulle fabrics, petite and organza presenting multicolor fringe, and elegant cold shoulder solid summer dresses. Nour was definitely the best choice to represent Egypt along with Zahran in the IFA.
