US President Donald Trump said today that he would be willing to sell other countries in the Middle East the same weapons systems sold to Israel, noting the region's wealth and saying it would be good for the United States and U.S. jobs.

"They're very wealthy countries for the most part," Trump told Fox News in an interview ahead of a signing ceremony at the White House for agreements normalizing relations between Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain later on Tuesday.

He noted that the UAE wanted to buy some fighter jets, adding: "I personally would have not problem with it. Some people do, they say ... maybe they go to war."

Earlier, Israel has reportedly posted stern objections over UAE requests to buy  F-35 fighter jets, citing concerns over military supremacy earlier pledged by US for Tel Aviv.

The remarks came as last minute preparations are underway in the White House which hosts a ceremony for the UAE and Bahrain signing two historic peace agreements with Israel, due shortly, in a strategic shift in the Middle East.

The two agreements will be signed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, making the UAE and Bahrain the first two Gulf states to sign a peace treaty with Tel Aviv.

An Israeli official accompanying Netanyahu said that Trump invited more than 1,000 people to eyewitness the grand celebration.
